This is a great little a Thai restaurant. This was our 2nd time and it didn't disappoint. Ambiances are low key but, it works. Family friendly restaurant and also like the fact they have reasonable hours so the staff could get to there family on time. Food is absolutely delicious sticks the authentic flavors. We were party of four and we all had enjoyed our food. One of the dish off, the Golden noodles with Shrimp, it has eggs in it but didn't expect it to be very egg forward!
Simply great food! It was exactly what my wife and I came in for. We were seated at once by a very kind waitress, got our food delivered in a short time. We liked it all.
Jimmy Thai is the best!!! The best food, the best service. Jimmy, the owner, is there every night. He and his staff go out of their way to ensure we have enjoyed our meal including recommending order adjustments to accommodate my new health-related eating restrictions. And the food is delicious. Try it...you'll love it too.
This spot is nestled in a large plaza with a huge parking lot that's somehow always packed with cars, probably due to the DMV being in the same plaza. Stopped in for a quick lunch on a weekday, I was sat immediately by Jimmy himself. He was so welcoming and friendly, really put a pep in my step! My server was great too, took my order in a timely manner. The portion was great for the lunch prices, I still had leftovers. My beef pad see ewe and dumplings were very tasty. Thai iced tea was also excellent. I will absolutely be back!
We have takeout orders from Jimmy Thai several times and are very pleased with the experiences. Most recently, we had Pad Thai with tofu, Pad See Ew with beef, and Thai Fried Rice with shrimp - all popular Thai favorites, and the restaurant did a great job in their preparations, with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors! The Pad Thai with tofu had a good balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors. The noodles and tofu had a good texture, and everything tasted fresh! I appreciated the hearty, slightly smoky flavor and chewy wide noodles in their Pad See Ew with beef. However, the beef was slightly overcooked and could be a little more tender. The quality and texture of the shrimp in the Thai Fried Rice was excellent, everything was so fresh and tasty, the overall balance of ingredients was done perfectly! What was great was that our food was still hot after the 10-minute ride home! When I called the restaurant to ask a few questions before I placed the order, I believed it was Jimmy on the phone. Although he was very busy at the time, he was very patient and friendly in answering me. He also advised that the 10% discount and complimentary food promotion could not be mixed, you could pick either one of the two. Since we had already ordered a lot of food (portions are good), we went with the 10% discount. All we needed to do was to pick the "cash option", then went in the restaurant to pay with our credit card, and they adjusted the amount upon us showing them the discount on our phone. Everything went smoothly. They have a big extensive menu, and we would love to try their ramen and other Thai dishes next time as well! They are sure in our takeout rotation!
I have been meaning to try Jimmy Thai for quite some time as I think it is one of the last restaurants in Deerfield that I haven't tried. But it has just never worked out for whatever reason. Perhaps since they are closed on Sundays and we often seem to go out for dinner on Sundays. I haven't had Thai food in a good while but I recall the last Thai food I had to be underwhelming with the food not being nearly as flavorful as I had hoped. Thankfully, that was not the case at Jimmy Thai. I ordered some Chicken Pad Thai and it was quite flavorful and very enjoyable. My wife ordered the Beef Pad See Ew and it was also very good. I had a bite of my daughter's Tofu Golden Noodles and liked that too. We were greeted quickly when we arrived. We were also given a few bottles of water right away which seemed a little strange to me but they were nice and cold so that worked for me. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. There was plenty of seating inside and plenty of parking outside. I can't really think of anything that we weren't pleased with. We enjoyed our dining experience and plan on coming back.
Jimmy Thai in Deerfield is a hidden gem that offers a delightful range of Thai dishes as well as Ramen noodles. We have ordered carry-outs from Jimmy Thai a number of times. Most recently, we had Pad Thai with Tofu, Pad See Ew with beef, and Thai Fried Rice with shrimp to go. The Pad Thai at Jimmy Thai is a masterpiece of balance and texture. The noodles are perfectly cooked, not too soft or chewy. The dish is slightly tangy with a hint of sweetness, complemented by the crunch of fresh bean sprouts and the nutty undertone of crushed peanuts. The Pad See Ew with beef is a comforting, hearty dish that showcases the restaurant's expertise in stir-frying. The broad rice noodles are slightly charred, giving them a smoky flavor that pairs wonderfully with the savory soy sauce. The beef is cooked to perfection. Jimmy Thai's Thai Fried Rice with shrimp is a standout for its simplicity and depth of flavor. The rice is light and fluffy, and the shrimp are cooked just right, maintaining their natural sweetness and a slight snap. Its carry-out service is impressive, making it a reliable option for those nights when you crave quality Thai food at home. The ordering process is smooth and efficient, whether you place your order online or over the phone. The staff is prompt and courteous, often going the extra mile to ensure that your order is accurate and that you have everything you need for a satisfying meal at home. Tip - if you check in Jimmy Thai using the Yelp app, you would get a 10% discount. To get the discount for ordering carry-out on line, you have to pick the pay by cash option. This doesn't mean that you have to pay by cash. Instead of using credit card to pre-pay during the online ordering process, you have to pay at the restaurant when you pick up the order (using credit card or other means), show them the 10% discount coupon on your phone from the Yelp app and they would adjust the bill accordingly. Suggestion to Yelp or Jimmy Thai on the offering of discount to Yelp members. Instead of using the electronic coupon and pay at the restaurant, may be Yelp members can be provided with a promotion code when they order online. We can then input the promotion code and pay with our credit card during the online ordering process. This will make the ordering process more streamlined, and we don't need to pay at the restaurant.
Love coming to Jimmy Thai! Every visit I always have a delicious meal and the owner, Jimmy, is truly the sweetest. He loves building relationships with his customers and is truly grateful to everyone who walks in. We ordered the panang noodles and swapped the crispy noodles it usually comes with for a wide pad see ew type of noodle. We also ordered the green curry with beef. Both dishes were delicious!
I can be a creature of habit. Here is my usual Jimmy Thai order: - chicken potstickers - fried. These are crispy, filled with chicken and served with a delicious dipping sauce. - Ramen with tonkotsu broth and pork chashu slices. I changed it up ever so slightly by ordering it "skinny" which is less noodles and more veggies. This is also topped with a perfectly done 1/2 egg. What elevates this ramen is the delicious flavorful broth. It's rich and (not too) salty and perfect with the ramen, bok choy and tender pork. Perfect meal for a chilly fall evening that warms you up from the inside. It's staffed by friendly staff and the very welcoming proprietor, Jimmy, who seems to know everyone and have a word with everyone. The Thai food is pretty good, too!
